Ravi Shankar esinemas 1969. aastal
Ravi Shankar (7. aprill 1920 Varanasi – 11. detsember 2012 San Diego, California) oli India sitarimängija.
Sitariõpinguid alustas Shankar 1930. aastate lõpus. Alates 1940. aastatest tegutses ta ka heliloojana, luues muuhulgas filmimuusikat.
1950. aastate teises pooles hakkas Shankar esinema Euroopas ja Põhja-Ameerikas, populariseerides nii India klassikalist muusikat. Shankarilt võttis õppetunde teiste seas The Beatlesi liige George Harrison, kes nimetas teda maailmamuusika ristiisaks. 1967. aastal esines Shankar Monterey popfestivalil ja 1969. aastal Woodstocki festivalil.
2013. aastal tunnustati teda postuumselt Grammy elutööauhinnaga, lisaks sai ta karjääri jooksul veel neli Grammy auhinda.[1] 1998. aastal pälvis ta Polari muusikaauhinna ning 1999. aastal India kõrgeima tsiviilautasu Bharat Ratna.
